THOMPSON HOME

The challenge for this build was not the clients' wish list but the tricky compact rear site. Creative and careful planning allowed the team to build the home the clients wished, without compromising the design or quality.

Clever engineering allowed for the appealing style of cantilevers. This let's the upper level of the house sit forward, over its structural base, while the weight is supported at the opposing end, resulting in more floor space and a contemporary design.

The project also incorporated high clearstory windows designed to allow more natural light in and the impression of a larger space. The well-lit areas mixed with the neutral colour scheme and concrete flooring further enhances the openness of the design. Negative detailing and perfect lines of cedar cladding clearly show off the teams' carpentry skills.
